Freedom of expression
Keele University aims to balance the “four freedoms” of free speech, academic freedom, freedom from hate and the freedom to protest. To protect these freedoms the University have developed a code of practice and additional guidance for all members to adhere to. Full details can be found on the University website, here.

Any student wishing to host a speaker or event should review this guidance to determine if approval is needed under the Speaker and Event Approval Procedure - Keele University. This document sets out the approach and process for reporting, risk assessing and managing speakers and events in order to maintain the commitments outlined within the Code of Practice.
